Welcome to JOCI web site. By using our site, you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by the following terms of use. Please review the following terms conditions carefully. If you do not agree to these terms, you should not use JOCI odometer-certification service.

Once you enter the details of your car we check the entered data with the data base available at Japan Auto Auction Association (Nippon Auto Auction Kyogikai ("NAK"). Japan Auto Auction Association is maintaining the largest data base on automobiles manufactured and sold in Japan. However odometer reading of a particular vehicle will be registered in their database only after the second registration or first appearance in an auto auction in Japan.

Odometer reading provided by us may be +/- 1000Km different from the actual odometer reading of the vehicle at the time of inspection.

If you are aware that the odometer of your car is tampered/rolled back we strictly advise you to not to attempt to check them through this system. However in case of tampered/rolled back meter your are abide to provide all the information requesting by JOCI with regards to the tampering/rolling back of the odometer. We will ask you to provide the name of the dealer who exports the car from Japan.

To obtain odometer certification service through JOCI you have to provide us a copy of the cancel registration certificate (shaken shou) or export certificate of the particular vehicle. If you don't possess it we advise you to not to attempt to get the odometer certification as it is impossible.

The charge for odometer certification for one vehicle is 3,000Japanese Yen including tax.


Terms and Conditions of use
Before you obtain the odometer certification service provided by Japan Odometer Certification Institute (''JOCI''), make sure you read the Terms and conditions of use stated below:
This Terms of User Agreement (the ''Agreement'') describes the terms and conditions applicable to your use of JOCI website which is identified by the uniform resource locator, http://www.odometer-check.com ( ''website''). This Agreement is entered into between you as the user of the website (''User'') and JOCI.
To obtain the odometer certification service you have to provide following details and documents.


Required details

  1. You have to provide us all the required information and a copy of the cancel registration (shaken shou) or export certificate of the relevant vehicle to obtain the odometer certification.
  2. Some required details such as current odometer reading must be provided after inspecting the vehicle thoroughly. It is the responsibility of the applicant to provide the true and correct information. Failing to do so, may black list the particular vehicle in JOCI and NAK databases.
  3. One of the most important information to be provided is current odometer reading of the car. You must inspect the car odometer physically and provide the true and accurate odometer reading. If you fail to provide true and accurate current odometer reading you may not get the odometer certificate because all the previous readings will be checked in compatible to the current odometer reading.
  4. In the e-certificate of odometer reading, last original reading at the time of auction or last registration in Japan will be verified with 100% guaranty. However we would not be able to predict the genuineness of the current odometer reading.
  5. In addition you have to provide the name of the dealer (in Japan) who is/has exporting/exported the particular car out of Japan.
  6. By accepting this agreement you abide to provide all the true and correct details of the exporter of the car from Japan.
  7. We are abide by law to keep all the record for at least seven (07) years and provide to the relevant authorities whenever requested.
  8. In case of tampered odometer JOCI will ask for the true and correct data. The applicant abides by law to provide such data including odometer tampering/rolling back.
  9. User should declare that the information they offer to JOCI are accurate, current and complete, and won't give any false information.

Payment
Once you provide the details and necessary documents you can enter the payment details. You can pay online through PayPal or any prestige credit card. Only members can make the payment through bank transfer. All inclusive cost for odometer certification for once vehicle is 3,000Japanese Yen.


E-Certificate
After processing the car odometer certification JOCI will issue an e-certificate. A link to retrieve the e-certificate will be sent to the email address registered at the time of request. To retrieve the e-certificate customer has to provide the vehicle ID (Chassis Number/VIN) and the certificate code. This information will be sent by email with the link to retrieve the certificate. This information will also be appeared on the e-certificate. We advise you to get a printout of the e-certificate for your records. Not like other certificates issued by individuals or institutes this e-certificate cannot be altered by anybody. Even if somebody attempts to alter both customer and the authority can check the original e-certificate online without third party by entering to JOCI web site.


Blacklist
Providing false or incorrect information will black list both the applicant and the vehicle. Once black listed an individual or a vehicle there names and identification/chassis numbers will never be removed from the black list. A black listed person/organization can no longer apply for odometer certification of any car from JOCI. A black listed vehicle cannot be tested by anybody in JOCI website without being black listed.

Indemnity
When User disadvantage or cause any damage to JOCI, other Users, or the third party by an act against this Agreement or any illegal act, JOCI will claim the damage from the user.

Discharge
Under no circumstances shall JOCI be held liable for an delay or failure or disruption of the services resulting directly or indirectly from acts of nature, forces or causes beyond its reasonable control, including without limitation, internet failures, computer, telecommunications or any other equipment failures, electrical power failures, strikes, labor disputes, riots, insurrections, civil disturbances, shortages of labor or materials, fires, flood, storms, explosions, war, governmental actions, orders of domestic or foreign courts or tribunals or non-performance of third parties, except when there is the great negligence caused by JOCI.

End of Service
JOCI assumes the right to end the service without notifying user concerned beforehand.
JOCI doesn't assume the responsibility of disadvantage that user may have from ending this service.

Copyright and trademark
The copyright of all information and contents that have been described in the website belongs to JOCI. The act of using, reproducing, and modifying without prior permission from JOCI is illegal.

Others
This agreement is based on law of Japan and shall be governed the law of Japan.
JOCI revises this agreement when necessary and user assume to follow the revised version accordingly.
